Black & White - Judged Internally

May 24, 2018

There were 47 images entered for this evening’s final competition for the 2017/18 season, which were themed Black & White and judged internally by members on the night.

There was a good range of subjects to make this an interesting evening of judging.

As usual with internal competitions we were only marking our top 4, not giving every image a score and then ranking them from 1 being our most favourite down to our 4th favourite. Sue and Jeff then converting these into scores, so that the image with the highest score came first etc.

Here are the results.

1st Being Overlooked - Mavis Evans scoring 18

2nd Due North - Nikki McAllister Freeman scoring 14

3rd Window to another dimension - Sue Porter scoring 12

4th Tree & Full Moon - Gerald Marsh scoring 10

Well done to these 4 and to everyone who scored on the night. Thank you to everyone who entered, these internal battles are always lively evenings in many ways!

Next week, 31 May, is the final session of this season. We will be having the awards night to start with and then hopefully weather permitting have a wonder around the park or down by the river so remember to bring along your cameras. If it’s raining bring along some props and we’ll have an indoor table top session again.

Just to remind everyone of what we discussed regarding the Awards Night. As this has changed from the middle to the end of the season the awards will be for this season’s work - so Best PDI, Best Print and Best Improver will be judged from images from Sept 2017 to May 2018. The images and prints already passed to Sue and John for the Chairman’s and President’s Cups will be for images from last season, that is 2016/17.
