CPS become Judges

January 23, 2020

This evening we became judges! Our task was to critique the images of East Sutherland Camera Club from Bora in the highlands and they were critiquing CPS images. We were divided into groups and handed out a list of images that we were to critique. We now know what it like to be a judge!

Personally I found this an useful exercise. When we complete our photographs we sometimes do not see that awful white spot or a sloppy horizon or ask the question 'What message do we want our viewer to see'. The judges have a task of looking what would make a better picture, but not forget that a majority of club members are not experts and need encouragement to enjoy their hobby at taking pictures.

It will now be interesting to see what East Sutherland Camera Club think about our photos!

The 8 Way Battle, hosted by Trostre for the Brian Jennings cup, on Monday 20th 2020 was very enjoyable, despite the awful weather! As usual they made us all welcome and provided a good buffet. The following are the final scores:

Llanelli              1st place with a score of 466

Kidwelly            2nd place with a score of 461

Tenby                3rd place with a score of 458

Carmarthen      4th place with a score of 442

Bury Port          5th place with a score of 441

Trostre              6th place with a score of 436

Towy Valley      7th place with a score of 430

Abertawe          8th place with a score of 425
