A good entry for our round 3 Print Competition this week with some 42 prints being entered covering a wide range of themes.
Our judge this week was Gary Shinner, LRPS, EFIAP/b, EPSA, AWPF, BPSA from Trostre/Velindre camera club.
Of the 42 entries which Gary judged he awarded the vast majority between 12 and 17 points selecting 8 'winning' images marking those between 18 and 20 points. The final images with their scores and authors were :-
18 - Buckled by Barry Jones
18 - Moonrise by Barry Jones
18 - Purple Iris by Nicola George
18 - The Amur Leopard by Alan Evans
18 - Yellow Billed Kite by Alan Evans
19 - Evening Fishermen by John Starzewski
19 - Hummingbird Hawkmoth by Sandra Baressi
19 - Kestrel Portrait by Alan Evans
20 - Stroke by Barry Jones
Congratulations go to Barry Jones on coming first with 'Stroke', to all those scoring 18 or 19 points and to Gary for providing an entertaining evening.
For all those who scored between 12 and 17 points, you produced a wide variety of interesting images which provide a strong foundation upon which to develop your work. For those who may have been disheartened or disappointed with a lower score it is vitally important to remember that this evenings results (as with all such competitions) reflect a single, subjective opinion which may not be a true representation of the work that you have produced and its value.
